The magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.

~ Wendy Wunder

My husband picked a great time to escape this very cold and snowy Canadian winter.

The tropical warmth and sunshine have been very healing.

Watching the sun rise and set, along with the reprieve from daily chores, has been a welcome retreat.

As we’d hoped, we have spent a lot of time outdoors. But I am ready to come home.

I could not live in the tropics. I appreciate the change of four distinct seasons at home. The tropical climate would feel monotonous to me.

Nevertheless, on this trip, more so than ever, I have been the beneficiary of solar therapy.

Having little appetite when recently ill, I lost a lot of weight and became nutrient-depleted, challenging me with minor symptoms of muscle weakness, tooth sensitivity and reduced lung capacity.

Thanks to active outdoor living in the warmth and sunshine, all of these symptoms have now subsided.

Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam,

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home…

~ John Howard Payne

For me, the best part of going on vacation is coming home again, this time with renewed energy and a healthier outlook.
