Unwilling to receive

Nothing happens unless first, we dream.
~ Carl Sandburg
This week I had a dream. It was disturbingly realistic.
I’ll start by stating that I feel incredibly blessed. We lack for nothing. For that I am grateful.
When it comes to monetary compensation for my services, I tend to be unwilling to receive it. I just want to help.
Dream big
Dreams come in a size too big so that we may grow into them.
~ Josie Bisse
Sunday night, I had a vivid dream. We won 56 million dollars.
I have never bought a lottery ticket. A long-held belief that lotteries are taxation of the poor may explain why.
In the dream, I went to great lengths to convince my husband why we should not accept the money. I had him fill out a form to reject the winnings.
Realizing that this might be my subconscious block to receiving, I stopped him as he was about to submit it. It's uncharacteristic of me to be this controlling.
But, the resistance reappeared.
This time I received a message that there must have been some mistake. We had not won the money. Disturbed, I woke up.
Thoughts to ponder
Dream analysis is not my forte - yet.
Carl Jung's analytical psychology relies extensively on dream analysis.
Jung believed that analyzing dreams is crucial for self-development. Through dreams, we access our unconscious mind.
Hmmm. Maybe I'm being guided to study Jung.
Whatever my 56 million-dollar dream means, my optimism has increased, even if the symbolism eludes me.
