You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.
~ James Allen
Thought is creative. Through the power of the mind, we shape our reality. We are powerful beyond measure.
This past week, because the media was presenting it as current, I heard several young people express outrage, anxiety and fear about an event in September 2021.
Suddenly an offensive comment about protestors who will not comply being extremists, misogynists and racists uttered by a defensive political leader seeking re-election has created renewed panic and fear.
Under the circumstances, I understand.
Leadership that demands obedience by threatening or creating fear is cause for concern. It is a sign of weak and insecure people in power, and it can lead to aggressive behaviour or even violence from disgruntled subordinates.
A quick search for mainstream media content now leads to countless sensationalized click-bait headlines promoting a narrow-minded public health agenda. The Trusted News Initiative (TNI) is behind the one-sided narrative. Journalistic integrity is at an all-time low.
It is cowardly to belittle, blame, shame, silence, ostracize and threaten those who think differently. It is a clue of how little power a leader has, not having the science on their side, being manipulated by public health leaders and directives from the elite.
People living in fear are vulnerable. When the fight, flight or freeze branch of the autonomic nervous system is activated, growth, recovery, reproduction and healing of the body are on hold.
A leader leads by example. They are role models; influencers; social engineers who can change the culture. Their behaviour has a ripple effect on that of their subordinates. When power corrupts, we can't be complacent. Our democratic rights are at risk.
Closing thoughts
We must raise future generations who feel safe, secure and empowered to question long-held beliefs. Curiosity must be encouraged for progress and innovation. We cannot let history repeat itself.
Let us not forget that we are powerful beyond belief. This week there were so many glimmers of hope including the US Supreme Court decision on workplace mandates.
Let us reclaim our power by overcoming fear and anxiety about what's to come. The future is beginning to look brighter.
The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking.
~ Albert Einstein
