Hope is an orientation of the spirit, an orientation of the heart. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense regardless of how it turns out.

~ Vaclav Havel

It is tough to overlook the constant bombardment of bad news.

The messaging can make one feel hopeless, fearful and distrustful.

Fear and lack of trust create division, hostility and a victim mentality. Many live in a place of blame.

Feeling unsafe is detrimental to our collective and personal well-being. Hence, I find myself looking for glimmers of hope to share.

A glimmer of hope is a subtle sign that something positive might happen or that a situation might improve, even when circumstances imply otherwise. It represents optimism in the face of adversity.

Sometimes things have to become messy to help overcome complacency and mobilize action in pursuit of a greater good.

Glimmers of hope appear in unexpected places and moments.

For instance, we have a large green propane tank in our yard that I considered a bit of an eyesore, but had yet to prioritize camouflaging it with plants. Much to my surprise, Nature found a way to do it for me. I am in awe of nature's majesty.

Similarly, witnessing a small act of courage, like an institution making a difficult but principled decision, has sparked hope for positive change in me.

Even simple, everyday experiences, like the beautiful weather or a small personal accomplishment, can serve as powerful glimmers of hope that reaffirm one's sense of well-being and connection to life.

Look and you shall find.
