Music can heal the wounds which medicine cannot touch.
~ Debasish Mridha
Music has long been associated with the power to heal mind, body and spirit.
Aside from playing the trumpet in high school, I have limited musical literacy. Nonetheless, I have at times successfully used sound therapy to improve mood and heal minor afflictions.
The sound of music is derived from waves whose frequency is measured in hertz (Hz) per second.
Solfeggio frequencies are a set of musical tones believed to have healing and spiritual properties. Six original Solfeggio frequencies date back to ancient times. Monks have stated that when these sacred tones were played harmoniously, blessings were bestowed upon the audience.
Each frequency is perceived to have a unique healing property. For example, 396 Hz is associated with overcoming guilt and fear, while 417 Hz releases negativity and past trauma, and 528 Hz promotes DNA repair and physical healing.
Music has the power to heal, inspire and transform. It can be medicinal.
